Our budget is small. What is the smallest project you'll accept?

mo:) was created to provide support to struggling public service organizations, so being a source of support is at the heart of everything we do. 

Our minimum fee for any service is $25, regardless of word count (excludes grant writing).

What is "lead time"?

“Lead time” is the period between when you hire us, and when we actually start work on your project. We work on a "first come, first served" basis; this ensures every project gets our full attention and meets your deadline.

What make the price per word go up for your writing services?

The biggest increases are due to the amount of "non-writing" work you've either requested or that the project requires. These may include: 

• Formatting 

• Asset integration 

• Linking to other existing content

• Requirements involving coding

These are design functions, and we can do this for you, but the price will increase accordingly. 

We are a Hispanic organization, and need help with our English. Is there an additional fee for this?

Meg es hablante nativa de español y se especializa en localizar contenido en español para el mercado de habla inglesa. No hay ningún costo adicional por este servicio. 

(Meg is a native Spanish-speaker, and localizing Spanish-language content to the English-speaking market is something she specializes in. There is no additional fee for this service.)

Can you manage our social media accounts for us?

We partner with some amazing social media managers. They take our written content, incorporate any graphics and CTAs, and create automated posting calendars based on your organization's goals. They can then be contracted to manage them for you, or they can hand them off for your team to manage. 

Can you make grants you've written available for review?

Grant copy is filled with confidential and proprietary information, which we would never make public. What we can share is that since its inception, mo:) has secured over $17M in federal and foundation awards. 

Do you provide grant management services?

When we write your grant, we will also create a digital reporting calendar, which can be integrated into most productivity suites. If you are awarded the grant, you'll already have a calendar with the reporting requirements detailed, scheduled to notify you well in advance of what is due, and when. 

Can we pay your grant writing fees as a percentage of the awarded grant?

No, and this is why: 

• Ethical Standards - Both the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and the Grant Professionals Association (GPA) prohibit members from accepting payment based on a percentage of grant awards. 

• Funding Restrictions - Federal grantmakers do not permit their funds to be used for "fundraising expenses", which includes grant writing fees. Allocating a portion of the grant to pay the writer violates grant terms and can lead to a revocation of funds and additional legal consequences.
